Newcomer to SP! (São Paulo)

Hi all! My name is Nick, I recently turned 27 and I am from the USA and have spent the past five years living in New York City. In about two months I believe I will be moving down to SP to help with a friends start up company down there but in the mean time I am attempting to get a base understanding of Brazilian Portuguese (yay Rosetta stone?!) so that I can ask to get around. Just wanted to say hi and I hope to meet some of you in a few months, if anyone has any tips on things to look into prior to the move or tips ofr learning the language let me know. I will most likely be looking for some housing, pref with an expat or an expat-friendly Brazilian, so if anyone has any ideas or resources for that please let me know! Thanks!
