register @ Policia Federal (São Paulo)

Dear Internations members,
I just returned on a student visa, and I was under the impression I had 90 days to register at PF, unfortunately, it is 30, and I am right now around 60 days here without registering! Has this happened to anyone, I am curious what the ramifications are, if any, as I am getting married in a month or so, so was going to apply for my permanent residency here at that time. Don't know if its something I absolutely need to do, or can wait till I am married and just file my paperwork then?
