Short stay in Sao Paulo and Taubate any tips ? (São Paulo)

I will be in Taubate and Sao Paule for the next week, on a short term business trip.
Tis will be my first time in Braziel at all.
Would be nice to get some advice and tips, must see places.
Some information about next weekend Carnival on the 9 Feb. ?
What are the place where you have to be if you are in Sao Paulo only for a weekend?
What do you have to see if you are in Taubate during the week?
