With our third issue out now and production of the fourth in full swing, we're looking for new members of staff in the form of an assistant editor and a picture editor. We would like to invite applicants who live in São Paulo, or who know the city well and are able to move here immediately, to get in touch via email ASAP, and by 11 January at the latest.
Aside from these two specific jobs, we're also always interested in hearing from São Paulo-based freelance journalists, sub-editors and proofreaders.
Excellent organisational, writing and editorial skills, efficiency, energy and attention to detail are the kind of attributes we are looking for in applicants for this position. This is a brand new magazine and it goes out monthly, so hard work, commitment to the job and long hours at certain times of the month come with the territory. You must be a native speaker of English and have good knowledge of Portuguese and of São Paulo.
Please write telling us a bit about yourself and detailing any professional experience and special skills (e.g. subbing, InDesign). Let us know what connection you have with São Paulo and for how long, and give us a realistic assessment of your level of Portuguese, written and spoken. Please also attach a CV and provide contact details for one or two work-related references. If you have them, attach up to three examples of your writing, and feel free to suggest any stories you think we should cover in the magazine.
Please write in English or Portuguese, telling us a bit about yourself and explaining why you would be the right person for this job, also giving details of your professional background and links to any photography you have online, if applicable. Please also attach a CV and provide contact details for one or two work-related references.
