Using a foreign business to create a local one (Seattle)

Hello,
Does anyone know how to go about using a foreign company to be the legal entity used in opening a local company here in Seattle?
Any direction would be greatly appreciated. I have a Canadian corporation that I would like to use to open an American company, and need to know where to start and what to watch for.
