bringing a cat from the U.S. (Shanghai)

Hi Expats,

Does anyone have specific experience from bringing in their cat from the U.S. and the best way to go about it? I have found various bits of information regarding a week long quarantine, or being able to have a quarantine at home... but none of the info I have found is consistent. Any information is gladly appreciated!! I am also staying at a hotel my first few weeks in the country so if that would complicate the matter, if there are policies against pets in hotels, that info would be great too. Thanks!!!
