Bringing a cat to Shanghai

Hallo,
me and my partner will move from Singapore to Shanghai in June. We want to bring our cat with us. Does anybody have experience in doing so and can help with some suggestions and recommendations for the process?
How about renting an appartment when bringing a pet, is this a problem?
