Unite the world with Zouk, the dance of love

An amazing event took place in September Protected content , the IZFM (International Zouk Flash Mob Protected content . It was organised from private initiative by some crazy zouk-addicts. IZFM Protected content be even better!

Why do we need the International Zouk Flash Mob?

We love zouk, zouk is the most wonderful dance to dance as a social dance. No social dance has so much variety in music and no dance has so many possibilities to express yourself. But it still is a relatively small dance. Many ordinary people may have heard of Samba, Lambada or Salsa, even when they could not recognise it, but Zouk? Not really. So we need to show the world the beauty of this dance and we need to get as many people dance as possible. We want to share our love for this beautiful dance with the whole world!

This year the famous Brazilian artist Paulo Mac has created a song especially for the Zouk Flashmob: "The dance of love". We will perform the choreography created by Henri & Claudia on this song all over the world on the International Day of Peace, Saturday September 21st. You can be a part of it!

We need lots of people who want to dance together in the choreography. No Zouk experience is required. There will be plenty of training sessions and you also have the possibility to train yourself further by using the video, so you don't have to attend every training. Since there will be more girls than guys, some girls will have to learn the leader part, which should really be no problem. It is a choreography, so both partners will know what to do and you have the chance to do some more feminine styling as a lead as well. So don't worry! Just partner up with a friend (boy-girl or girl-girl) and be part of this amazing experience!

The plan is to dance on the Bund with the Pudong skyline as a background, somewhere in the afternoon on September 21st. We do not only need dancers, we also need photographers, camera men, media etc. We need portable speakers, practce space, maybe a city permit for the flashmob, people who can connect with the media and maybe even more. So you don't have to be/become a dancer to be part of this special event.

The yearly IZFM is considered to be an event, free-of-charge. However, donations are necessary when needing to pay rent for rehearsal rooms, sound system, city permit etc. So far Loca Dance Studio has provided us with free rehearsal space on Saturday afternoons, which we are very grateful for. In case anything needs to be paid for in the future, you will be informed. The more people we have, the lower the donation will be, so tell everybody to participate!
