New to Shanghai + Obama's Inauguration

I arrived in Shanghai four days ago to replace an English teacher for 6 months at the Lycée français. I belong to Internations in Paris, France, where I live permanently. I would like to meet other expats and English or French-speaking Chinese people while I'm here. Also, I'm missing all sorts of events in Paris that are being held for Obama's Inauguration on January 20. Does anyone know of something going on in Shanghai? Thank you.
