if you want to make a break for a long weekend or a week i can recommend you a trip to guangxi. best is to take a plane to guilin, chep flight by sping airline oe via Protected content . you can visit dazhai in 800m sealevel, cool, with nice yao tribes and rice terasses. good hotel there is Protected content or you can go to yangshuo, bycycling, bar scene and also clbing mountain, rafting, caves. i you combine both you need 1 week. only one you can make on a long weekend. you can also go by train to guilin from shanghai, but need 24 hour. by plane only 1,5 hour. have fun ..
