Qualifications and Experience
•Graduate of an accredited WFOT Occupational Therapy Program
•Licensed or registered to practice in their home country
•Minimum two Protected content clinical experience. Experience working with children in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorder, Motor Development, Sensory Processing Disorders and Special Education would be an asset
•Proficiency in English and/or Mandarin; other native language speakers will be considered
•Understand and apply the concepts of Occupational Performance when enabling clients and their families
•Apply a client-centred approach when developing and implementing OT goals which are occupation-focused, targeted and measurable.
•Provide direct service, consultation, mediation and education to client, family and community providers with a focus on maximizing a child's function in the areas of self-care; productivity (school and play skills) and leisure (community participation)
•Utilize research to establish and support evidence-based practice
•Provision of in-school consultations to parents and/or teachers as and when needed
Full time therapist position in Essential Learning Group shanghai, serving mainly expat clients (children, adolescents and families). Job scope includes but not limited to: conducting individual and group therapy, assessments, behavior analysis and consultation to teachers and parents.
Education and Training:
1.Master's degree in psychology or education, preferably MFT or CSW from credited school/program.
2.Specialization in child and adolescent behavior therapy: FBA, ABA, CBT, DBT.
3.Training in play therapy, music therapy and/or special learning support are also recommended.
1.Minimum two years of working experience (for Chinese work visa reason). Familiar with working with schools, teachers, counselors and parents both in school setting and home service.
2.Experience in conducting intake, assessment, treatment planning, report meetings and therapy with minimal supervision and outstanding quality.
3.Being enthusiastic about the work and proactive in case management as well as both internal and external communication.
4.Work experience in a multidisciplinary team will be beneficial but not required.
5.Humble and flexible. Willing to learn and grow.
6.Cross-cultural working experience and cultural competence will be taken into consideration.
