using a foreign device in china (Shanghai)

Hi everyone again,
As I find myself getting ready for my little trip to China, I wanted to ask here if it might be possible to use my phone and/or my Spanish phone card in China;by the time I was living there, it was impossible... if I can't use my Spanish device, shall I buy a Chinese one for just two weeks?
