Expat in the Shajing Area (Shenzhen)

Hello,

I'm from Malaysia, recently received an offer for a position in Shajing area of Shenzhen, personally i'm not familiar at all with Shenzhen. What do you guys think in terms staying and working in that area?

Should i consider staying in the Downtown area like Shekou and etc then commute everyday?
