Advice on Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (Singapore)

I am trying to find out more about relocating to Singapore via the Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC). For those that have been through the EPEC process, can you please share your experience with it? How long did it take for your EPEC application to go through and then to get approved for a one year Visit Pass? Do you recommend applying for EPEC before or after going to Singapore? Once securing employment, how long did it take to obtain an Employment Pass?

I am familiar with the process as explained on the Ministry of Manpower and Immigration and Checkpoints Authority websites but I wanted to hear about experiences with it.

Any advice on this subject is greatly appreciated.
