Anyone care for a drink & some music? (Singapore)

Hi guys! I'll be dropping in to Singapore for one night and day on Sept 29th..my first time there and don't know anybody. I'm Australian/Peruvian living and working in Cologne, Germany, can check out my profile..on a world trip, coming from Bali and heading to Tokyo before home in Cologne..if anyone out there's interested in showing me around a bit, the culture exchange could be fun. Just checking out some hostels to stay in now, but there's a million..heard there are some nice bars and music near the port in the business centre..is this a good place to hang out..? ..any tips would be appreciated
