Best Areas to Live in Singapore?

Hi all, my husband has just been given a position in Singapore and I'm wondering which areas would be best to live in? We have a two year-old and I'm pregnant with baby #2, so convenience to major shopping, transportation lines and a daycare is key. I welcome all insights as I have no idea where to start!
