health Insurance for employee (Singapore)

Hi, I am Eri, living in Germany. I got a job offer in Singapore and might move there.

May I have a question if its normal in Singapore that company doesn't provide me insurance the beginning of 6 months?
My company won't pay my insurance for training term.

If I have to get private insurance, how much does it cost? Maybe travel insurance is better than others?
