How do you insure you valuables when you move coun (Singapore)

I will be repatriating to the UK in August. My worldly goods will be going by sea and will be covered by the removal insurance.

However, my valuables (the few that there are) will be travelling with me, first on holiday in the region and then on the trip home. These are not covered by the removal insurance. For the holiday in the region I could get travel insurance but, ‘normal’ travel insurance has an upper limit of SGD800 per item – even the deluxe options. In any case most companies will not cover me as the move is seen as ‘one-way’ trip.

Can anyone recommend the best way to cover these goods?
