Responsible for providing educational instruction to assigned students in a structured classroom environment designed to promote intellectual, emotional and social growth. He/She will develop teaching plans that are appropriate to the ages and populations served, specifically children and adolescents (ages Protected content with emotional, developmental and/or behavioral needs.
A. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in special education, Human Service Field, or Psychology or equivalent.
B. Experience or interest in the principles and application of individualized curriculum. Strong interpersonal skills are required. Must demonstrate strong reading, written and oral language skills. Strong teaching skills with emphasis on students who are emotionally, behaviorally, or academically challenged.
C. Experience with children who have Autism Spectrum Disorder, developmental delays, moderate to severe learning disabilities. Able to write and implement individualized education plans (IEP’s).
D. Work closely with assistants, staff, and specialists to achieve a comprehensive learning plan.
E. Prefer at least two Protected content experience with specialized populations.
