Lump sum vs monthly installments (Singapore)

Being from the US, I'm so used to Fed Inc Taxes being deducted automatically each paycheck. This whole not getting taxes deducted is new to me.
Anyone have an opinion on which method of paying SG taxes is more beneficial?
Interested to hear your feedback.
