Rochester / Buona Vista MRT area - Other Suggestio (Singapore)

I am headed to Singapore for work at the end of Nov for 3 weeks and I will be staying in the Rochester area right near the Buona Vista MRT. This will be my first trip to Singapore and there is a good chance I could end up moving here in support of my job over the next year. Any suggestions on things to do or places to eat and drink in the Rochester area during the week and the best places to hit up on the weekend? I am not a huge partier but I do like to go out a few times a week when I am traveling and have drinks with good people.
