I am an experienced American educator passionate about teaching and learning. This past school year, I was an English Language Fellow at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) with the U.S. Department of State and Georgetown University. Before moving to Indonesia, I was an award-winning ESOL Specialist in the United States.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education with an ESOL Endorsement and a Master’s degree in Reading Education from Florida Gulf Coast University. I’m certified to teach English Protected content , English Protected content , Reading (K-12), Exceptional Student Education (K-12), English as a Second Language (ESOL K-12), and Elementary Education (K-6). I also have a TEFL- C Certificate from Colombia University, Teachers’ College.
This is my eighth year teaching. Last year, I was a Golden Apple Finalist for Lee County Public Schools and awarded the FGCU Soaring Eagle Alumni Award for the College of Education. I have taught students of all abilities and ages in Florida, China, and Indonesia. In Protected content 2013, I worked as a Foreign Trainer at Disney English in Shanghai, China. I moved back to the US to complete my Master’s degree and continue working with with “at-risk” children in rural communities.
