What to do on Lunar New Year? (Singapore)

Ok, so this is going to be our first Lunar new year in Singapore or Asia in general. We originally planned to go on a short "vacation" outside Singapore but that won't be happening. I've heard from colleagues (Singaporeans) that many things will be closed.

So what is there to do in Singapore that would be interesting and unique for that long weekend?

We've got a teen and a pre-teen, so that somewhat constrains our choices.
