Where to live in Singapore?

Hello all,

(and thanks in advance for your comments). Just arrived in Singapore and very excited about putting my bags down for a while.

Keen on permanent accommodation recommendations from you. Like CBD / Robertson Quay / surrounds but will be need to work in Jurong East which involves a bit of transit.

Would like to be somewhere: nice, good amenities, friendly expat community, nice restaurants and things to do as well preferably near a park for running. Fort Canning the most appropriate I have found so far.

Realise I could commute from the above areas, or life closer to Jurong East and head back for social activities, just not sure what is out / along that way.

Anyhoo, if you have any specific recommendations (i.e. apartment blocks 1 bedroom or condo fine), or areas you really like - then that would be most appreciated.

Team of 1 so pretty flexible.
