working on an LTSVP as self-employed? (Singapore)

Hi everybody,

I couldn't find the info whether I am allowed to work - as a self employed person that is, not with an employer who sponsored me - when I am on a LTSVP (Long Term Social Visit Pass) (As I am unamarried I can only get the LTSVP not a dependent's pass).

First I thought I apply for an entre pass, but blimey, they require a bank deposit of 50.000 plus a business plan with market potential analysis -

I just want to do consulting & supporting work for IP firms - there is no need to do a market analysis, as there is also no investment required.
