Gaining citizenship through ancestry (Sofia)

Hello, I'm new here.

My wife's great-grandmother and great-grandfather emigrated to the US years ago. They were Bulgarian citizens until death in Protected content never naturalized. Does anyone know if their children and grandchildren would also be Bulgarian citizens?

Also has anyone gone through the process of gaining citizenship by using ancestry?
