French Tour for the Bastille Day (Southampton)

Bonjour!

As part of the celebration of the "Bastille Day" , a walk around Southampton's French Connection has been organised on Saturday the 11th of July at 3pm.

David Adcock, an experienced Southampton Tour Guide and francophile will lead a walk around the old part of Southampton exploring the City's historic links with France. As part of the walk you will see a 12th century wine vault believed to have been constructed by craftsmen from Bordeaux. You will discover Southampton's French Protestant Church and find out why Protected content a low point in relations between Southampton and France as well as hearing many other fascinating stories.

The tour will be made in English with possibility of some short French translation on request delivered by Laurie Barriol, a French native speaker.

The tour will start at 3pm from the Bargate Tour and will finish at the Victor Hugo French cafe in the High street to share coffee/tea and French pastries*.

The walk will last around 75 minutes.

Please wear or take with you something French to celebrate the event!

Please note that some part of the tour are not accessible to wheel chair.
