Question for Human Resources Professionals (St. Petersburg)
OK. So, I am trying to help someone understand the code words that are used in a job description so that they are not unnecessarily removed from a pool of applicants for a position for which they are otherwise eminently qualified.
A friend of mine is applying for a management position in Russia with a foreign firm. She is a native Russian speaker and has tested - although does not have certification - at native level fluency in English. She holds advanced degrees from an Ivy League college in the United States. My question is this: the job description calls for a "Native English speaker." Is this exactly what it means - or someone who did now grow up speaking English but has native level fluency meet this standard?
