Russian/English Poetry Evening August 19th (St. Petersburg)
Poetry show: Vitaly Savin—Rare Diagnosis
You will find out everything they don’t tell you about poetry, for example: was Brodsky the second Voznesensky?
More than just a poetry evening, this will be more like a dialogue in a friendly setting, where the author Vitaly Savin will read his own poems as well as those written by famous poets of the 20th century, and share his opinion about their styles. Anyone can ask questions and find out interesting facts about various milestones in Russian poetry.
There will also be an English language part of the evening. Translator Sarah McDowell from Canada will read her English translations of Mr. Savin’s poems. She will also answer the questions of any English speaking guests.
The poetry show will take place at Work-Smart co-working centre, located at 23 Plutalova Street (5 minutes’ walk from metro Petrogradskaya), St. Petersburg, Russia. There will be tea, coffee, cookies, and food for thought from the author!
Date: Friday, August 19th
