Australia Day 2009 (Sydney)

The Australia Day celebrations in Sydney are befitting of Australia's oldest and biggest city, with events and activities spread far and wide.
The City offers an abundance of activities for all ages including Woggan ma gule Morning Ceremony at Farm Cove starting at 8.00am, followed by Sydney's Biggest Backyard at Hyde Park from 10.00am onwards. Activities include great entertainment with ABC for Kids Show, interactive craft workshops and BBQ fare. The Lord Mayor's Citizenship Ceremony starts at 2.00pm, followed by music and comedy until 6.00pm, when ‘Dancing under the stars’ begins.
City streets are also hosting the NRMA Motorfest, the Village Bus Service and the NRMA Village at Hyde Park Barracks Forecourt.
There is also plenty of action on the Harbour with the Ferrython, Best Dressed Vessels Competitions, 173rd Australia Day Regatta, Tall Ships Race, and Jazz on the Water Concert at 4.00pm.
