Being culturally respectful (Sydney)

I was wondering if anyone had any good tips on being culturally respectful while trying to build new business relationships in Australia (Particularly the Sydney and Wollongong areas). I'm a marketing/advertising copywriter, so I know I'm working at a disadvantage in terms of coming from the outside on certain expressions and nuances. What would be the best way(s) to quell these concerns when speaking with someone who may be interested in my services?
