Intial days at Sydney

Hi Guys, I am from India, an IT professional, recently got my PR and planning to move to Sydney in 6 months time. Before that want to be fully prepared. I would have to leave my job and land over there. So any one who can advise on things, I should be looking for at top priority. Secondly till I get a job in my Sector, what are the other options available to me to get some part time jobs any where. This is my first trip outside India and thats why little tense along with excited. I am bachelor and would be travelling all alone. Even please advice on the expenses , My life style is pretty simple and accordingly how much per month should be ok for decent living. Thanks in advance..
