Leonardo da Vinci's Models of Invention (Sydney)

A free exhibition at the University of Technology, Sydney puts on display models based on da Vinci's mechanical and engineering sketches.

Models of Invention takes a new look at da Vinci’s work as a form of futurism. It showcases a selection of da Vinci's designs constructed as three dimensional models and explores his genius for finding connections between design, art, science and technology that caused an explosion of possibility across Renaissance Europe.

You dont have to be a technical or even an art person to enjoy this exhibition. He made these sketches in the Protected content , yet some of the designs predicted and led to many of the modern day objects that were later developed in the Industrial age.

If you happen to be near Central station you should definitely drop in for a look. The exhibition runs from 22 August to 16 November.
