Moving to Sydney - Questions on Housing and Jobs

Greetings!!!
I got my Protected content visa and I am planning to move to sydney in the end of May. I am from Bangalore and software engineer by profession. My core skills are C++,Vc++ in windows desktop applications. It would be of great help if you could consider guiding me in the following.
1. Would June time frame be right for Job oppurtunities.
2. Which part of Sydney would be good ( Close to Software companies, Safe) for stay.
3. I am planning to book temporary accommodation on AirBnb Any other suggestions are welcome.
