Travelling to australia (Sydney)

Hi everyone. I´m travelling with a friend to Sidney next October. We already started to plan but i would like to ask if possible for you to share tips, ideas for us to do while being there. We also want to drive from Sidney to Brisbane along the Gold Coast . what is the best and not so expensive way to get to brisbane.
