Better season for holiday in Taiwan,May or August? (Taipei)

Hi there!

We would like to visit Taiwan for holidays this year for a week and would like to know which of the following would be better, MAY or AUGUST (ideally on the second half of any).

We live in Austria, so it is a long and expensive trip, and any tip for planning will be highly appreciated (better pls via email as I am full time on the go).
