Just Taipei or anyone living in Taichung as well?

Hi all,
Planning on moving to Taiwan this year, I will be there after the summer. Have visited before, fact is I am in Asia every year, but never lived in "your" corner of the world, and now it is finally time. I am coming to study Mandarin, and originally I had planned to move to Taipei, at least to start with.

However now I am leaning towards Taichung instead, simply because I understand that there are less foreigners there, and I will be forced to use mandarin a lot more. But I don't want to be totally left out either... Are there any people here that don't live in Taipei but in Taichung? Or does anyone know of any networks in Taichung? I have checked various forums but didn't find any specific Taichung-networks.
