Moving with Pets (Taipei)

We're not 100% sure but Taipei may be our next country. I have an old dog and a cat. Both are small and I'm concerne about how difficult might be to move with them. I'm specially concerned with my dog because he is old and I heard all dogs would be quarantined. If my husband gets this position we will be flying from USA. I would appreciate if you could share your experiences.
How are animlas treated in Taiwan?
