Barcamp Central Asia in Uzbekistan (Tashkent)

BarCamp is an international network of user-generated conferences (or unconferences). They are open, participatory workshop-events, whose content is provided by participants.

BarCamps focused on early-stage web applications, open source technologies, social protocols, and open data formats, social media, marketing and advertising, blogging and jounalism.

The format has also been used for a variety of other topics, including public transit, health care, and political organizing.

The name BarCamp is a playful allusion to the event's origins, with reference to the hacker slang term, foobar: BarCamp arose as a spin-off of Foo Camp, an annual invitation-only participant driven conference hosted by open source publishing luminary Tim O'Reilly.
The first BarCamp was held in Palo Alto, California, from August 19–21, Protected content , in the offices of Socialtext. The first, and important news - we have moved onto Protected content .

Anticipating the obvious question, just answer it in the affirmative - Yes, the organizing team is the same. We remain true to our own, I may say so, the mission that began in Protected content . :)

Moving into the .net domain zone due to loss of domain barcamp.uz, which is certainly unpleasant, but not critical for the camping movement, because content is much more important rather than domain.
