American Days, festival of American culture in Geo (Tbilisi)

U.S. Embassy Tbilisi invites you to celebrate American Days – a festival of American culture in Georgia! With a broad range of events planned – including a photo exhibition, poetry nights, American Film Noir screenings, and a Jazz concert tour – American Days will take place throughout the month of April in Telavi, Kutaisi, and Tbilisi. The festival aims to strengthen ties between Georgia and the United States through the arts and to share with the Georgian public about American literature, art, cinema, and music.

American Days kicked off last Tuesday with the first screening of a series of iconic American Film Noir movies. These film series will run every Tuesday throughout April. A traveling exhibition, courtesy of the American Geographical Society, will showcase a collection of photographs of the American West dating from the second half of the 19th century and the first part of the 20th century. In celebration of National Poetry Month, poetry nights have been organized with readings in Georgian and English of works by American poets. To celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month and International Jazz Day on April 30th, the embassy is hosting a concert tour by award-winning American jazz pianist, Justin Kauflin, from the Kennedy Center. By showcasing the talents of this visually impaired musician, this concert tour also aims to advocate for persons with disabilities through the arts.

All events are free and open to the public. Please join us!
