Open workshops, "micro" courses or practicums? (Tehran)
I am planing a trip to Iran later this year (for one month, most likely September) and am looking to combine it into an unofficial “working trip” of sorts – albeit volunteer duties, attending informal local workshops, etc.. I am not looking for paid work, assignments or formal courses to attend (as I have a 4 week tourist visa).
Basically my goal is to be able to use this short opportunity to enhance both my cultural experiences as well as my C.V. (areas of interest including, but not limited to: technology, culture, fine arts and linguistics).
I have done this twice before in other countries. To give two examples:
- At the time combining a visit with an owner of a local Art Gallery in Belgium (connecting ahead of time) and donating time to assist with promotion.
- Combining an extended trip to the UK and attending open photography workshops (minimal registration fees, and open to the general public)
