Possibility to expat to Teheran (Tehran)

Hello all, I have the opportunity to expat to Teheran with my family (wife, 2 kids and dog) but a lot of questions come to me when I read blogs, info, etc...
I understand Iran is a Ismalic Republic, and that they have their own rules, but do all those rules apply also to foreigners or are they more flexible than what it is read in the newspapers? Our fears come from our children education, are there still open international schools? I have read there have closed several international schools and this is something really important for us. At the same time, I am a bit worried when I read that dogs are not welcomed in Teheran, I mean, does anyone of you have a dog there? Can you go with your dog for a walk or is this true that it is forbidden? At the same time, can you tell me how is life there?
Sorry for not being really specific, but everything is a question for me, country seems to be amazing, and I like the project I have been offered, but is Teheran a good place to be with family?
