Risk for dual citizens? (Tehran)

Hello,

I'm going to be an expat very soon as I'm marrying an Iranian man and moving with him to Tehran for the time being.
I have read some horror stories about Iranian authorities and dual citizenship, I would like to know if anyone has any experience with this?
For example I would most likely have to give my German passport to the aithorities in order to obtain an Iranian passport, and I will always have to travel with both my passports to be able to go back to Germany.

Is this risky? Can they just nick my German passport without reason or is this only a risk if I commit a crime and they want to keep me there?
I want to be as prepared as possible to avoid being stuck there without being able to come back to my family.
