Speaker # Protected content and Writing About Your Adventure with Nithin Coca (Hosted by the Pink Cow)- When Nithin was 23, a recent College graduate with big dreams, he embarked on a 13-month, unplanned, around the world journey, to find myself and my life’s desires. His recently released memoir, Traveling Softly and Quietly, is about this trip. How does travel at the edges of ones limits help us learn about who we are?

The book is more than a mere travelogue, its a book about life. Coca explores, through attempts to party in Europe, backpack solo in Turkey, and volunteer in Nepal and Thailand, universal themes such as independence, modernity, growth, and friendship. By observing quietly, and slowly diving into many challenges on the road, he eventually overcome shyness and uncertainty and discover the beauty of travel.

Coca will also talk about writing the memoir, and how the hardest part about writing is simply, writing. Ideas stay stuck in your head and never come out on paper. He’ll discuss building discipline, the editing and revising process, and why self-publishing is the only way forward in today’s modern publishing industry for a first-time writer.

About the Author: An ambitious, young writer with a unique, global, voice, NithinCoca is a world traveler who aims to tell stories that connect us through our common human culture. Infected with the travel bug at a very young age, when his mom took her three month old firstborn child to India to meet his grandparents, he has already visited 44 countries and lived in Spain, France, Nepal, and Indonesia. Nithin received his undergraduate in Communications from the University of Southern California and worked for more than four years in public relations. His writing has been featured in Indonesia Expat, Al Jazeera English, 8Asians, Quartz, and Bootsnall.
