Moving to Tokyo early 2015 with a 1 year old !!

Hi, we are moving to Tokyo early next year and would love some ideas on areas to live which would be good for a young family. Somewhere with some open spaces, easy to do some Japanese and Western shopping, close to activities/playgroups for an 18 month old, near transport, good restaurants, somewhere vibey and funky. Its all a bit daunting at the moment and I don't know where to begin.
