French Health Care (Toulouse)

I am self employed UK Citizen now living in Toulouse but working for a Dutch Company although will be paying French Taxes! I am trying to register for the French Health system but running into all sorts of problems! Because of my set p they dont want to know me - as the British !!!!
Would anybody know anyone or anywhere I could turn?
