How to ship 1 to 2 cubic meters?? (Toulouse)

The truth is folks (and I'm sorry to say) I now have to return to California. I'm finding it difficult to obtain transparent information about shipping procedures for approximately one or two cubic meters of varied belongings, from France to the Sacramento area of California. I'd greatly appreciate any and all advice, I need to get moving on this pretty soon, leaving mid April.
