Local advice for this 'youngish' family..... (Toulouse)

Hello!
Quick introduction: I'm Australian, my husband is French and we have 2 children aged 9 and nearly 7 (CE2 and CP). After many relocations (to England, California, Shanghai, France) we are planning to settle down indefinitely in Toulouse this year (arriving from the Vendee region....that's near Brittany!).
I'm sure that I'll be back on this forum with more questions but the most pressing now is WHERE to settle? We need to get this right as we do NOT want to have to change the children's school again....I don't think that they would ever forgive us:
Here are our criteria:
- 'Close' commute to Cornebarrieau (next to the runway to be precise).
- Good/Great schools (what's a 'good school'?.....um... I suppose one with motivated teachers who provide high quality lessons in a caring environment). We need a primary school for la rentree Protected content would also like to be relatively near a reputable college and lycee for the future.
- Calm with small garden would be nice.
....nearby public transport and good facilities (library, swimming pool, grocery shopping etc) would be cherries on the top.

I'd be very grateful for ANY suggestions and advice (including what to avoid!).
Thanking you and looking forward to meeting you (virtually for the moment),
Jenni
