looking for volunteers (native English or Spanish (Toulouse)

Hello,

Once again I'm hoping you won't mind sending this out to your members
as we are still looking for native speakers who might want to
volunteer at our Language Center.

Thank you so much for your help.

Best regards,
Ann Miller

LOOKING FOR NATIVE SPEAKERS

The CRIL (an International Relations and Language Center) is a
beautiful, new university language center on the Rangueil campus of
the University of Toulouse III (Paul Sabatier).

As part of our English language program, we offer a series of weekly
workshops and conferences. This is why we are contacting you!

First let me tell you about the workshops:

We are also looking for volunteers to come and help with conversation
workshops. You can come once, twice, weekly? We are very flexible.
The workshops last only 30 mn (we hope you'd do two back to back) and
the topics are wide open. Plus, we've limited enrollment to 6
students per workshop, so it's a perfect size for this type of
activity. Of course the goal is simple: get the students talking!

Although we cannot pay you, we can offer you access to our language
lab to practice your French or invite you to other conferences and
exchanges with our professional university colleagues. We can also
offer advice or suggestions on any other issues you might have
encountered here in France.

Now the conferences:

We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to share their
passion with our students, be it professional, cultural, or other. The
conference subjects are wide open. Although the topics are endless, a
few ideas might be:

-setting up a business in a foreign country
-presenting an association
-managing a team in English
-a travel log
-explaining some song lyrics
-designing an aircraft
-enrolling your child in the French school system
-talking about a cultural experience or a cultural difference?

These conferences would last around 45 minutes, followed by
(hopefully) some questions by the students. This is a wonderful
opportunity to get back in touch with university students and impart
on them your wisdom and experience! It is not just an English exercise
for them but in some cases, it is also a quest for knowledge in the
professional and cultural arena.

If you are interested in helping us launch this new program, either
through a conference or workshops, please contact Ann Miller at:

Feel free to pass this along to anyone you think might be interested
in this project.

Thank you so much for your help and participation!
