Hindu Celebration of Lord Shiva Tuesday March 5th (Trinidad & Tobago)
Dear All,
I'm not sure how uniquely "Caribbean" Hindu celebrations are here compared with other parts of the diaspora, but if you're interested in witnessing a Celebration of Lord Shiva in a comfortable and accessible setting, the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus is holding their celebrations from 6pm - 9pm at the Engineering Car Park Block 3. There is always "prasad" or a blessed meal after services. A "collection" plate goes around for attendees to collect their blessings from the sacred flame, and no financial donation is expected or necessary. You can come late and leave early.
Just a note of encouragement to experience the religious diversity of Trinidad and Tobago and the culture of Hinduism in the Caribbean at this auspicious time of year:
